“Legacy of Terror”
Legacy of Terror is a decent standalone type episode despite being the epilogue of sorts of the Geonosis re-invasion. It’s attempt is to create a PG horror atmosphere which is a very tricky order. It falls a bit short for me, but that in no way means it’s a failure.
After Master Luminara goes after Poggle the Lesser and disappears, Anakin and Obi-Wan go after her. In the catacombs of Geonosis, they come face to face with what appear to be zombie Geonosians. It turns out their queen creates such a powerful hive mind that she can reanimate dead corpses and return them to service. How do you kill something that is already dead?
The Queen uses worms of some kind to crawl into a lifeform and control it. The Queen wants to do the same to Luminara but Obi-Wan and Anakin make it there first.
Anakin and Obi-Wan continue their battle of ideology with Anakin preferring the direct approach while Obi-Wan would rather take it slowly. It’s probably the most important portion of the tale in an overall saga point of view but it does kind of diminsh the creepy vibe they were going for for most of the epsiode.
It is still a worthy effort overall despite it’s shortcomings.
