Eragon

Has anyone read these books? The author wrote the first two when he was only 16, and the third came out last September. I really enjoy it, although it is like a mix of of LOTR, Star Wars, and HP. He still did a great job thinking up all the different scenarios and the story. There are a few predictable things, especially in the first two books. However, the third book really showed some nice maturation. The writing was much more crisp and added some more humor. I'm looking forward to the 4th (and last) one.

So...thoughts?

I've read the first two...haven't gotten past that for no real reason...the first one was fun but completely star wars dervitive with a little LOTR thrown in for good measure.

The second one did get better as it got more into it's own story a bit.

I do want to read the third (and fourth) and I will....eventually :))

Did you ever get around to this? haha. One of my students had this book back in the winter reading it at school. Turned out a couple of the other students read it, as well.

The name alone turned me off. Hmm, let's take the word dragon and swap out the d for an e! It's erilliant! The sequels can just go up the alphabet. Fragon. Gragon.... Zragon.

Makes sense that it was written by a 16 year old though.
