The Chronicles of Narnia
The Chronicles of Narnia are what many consider to be the alternative grandfather of fantasy. Written by Tolkien friend, C.S. Lewis, the saga follows the adventures of four young children (and eventually a few more) and their journey to the magical land of Narnia. Heavy on Christian allegory, the Chronicles do serve to capture the imagination in both novels and on film.
