This is America!

Tyson Foods Plant in Shelbyville, TN drops Labor Day holiday in order to institute Muslim holiday Eid al-Fitr

Look, I’m all for giving equality in anything, but Labor Day is a United States government recognized holiday. Giving special recognition to a group and spitting on American traditions, especially a holiday, is far more of a slap in the face to this country than almost anything else. All in all, this company said it is contractual because a majority of the workers, union of course, voted in favor of it.

The article goes on to read that the plant also has a special prayer room in it for Muslims. In the interest of fairness, do they have a special room for all other religions to pray in? I suppose not. The next thing they will have are foot washing stations in the restrooms.

America is great for being diverse, but is there a line on appeasing people or do we have to continue to kiss the ass of people because they ask for it?

The union voted to bring back the Labor Day holiday in addition to keeping the Muslim holiday.

Thanks to Shaft at the Phatooine forums for the heads up on this.
