Robert Langon returns for the third time in an all new adventure. Unfortunately the novel does not approach the heights of the previous two, and in fact seems tired, uninspired, and at times boring.

Before you see this film you must decide one thing. Do you like Tim Burton? If you have never enjoyed a Tim Burton directed piece than you might as well stay home. This is vintage Burton through and through…if a little Disneyfied. In an interesting move that is somewhere between deception and honesty, Burton names the film Alice In Wonderland despite the fact that it is supposedly a sequel of sorts. Alice is grown up now and she returns to a now post-apocalyptic Wond…er…Underland, as the denziens call it. And yet, the sequel does, for the most part, follow the same tale as the original, with the exception of the grown up Alice.

Having just finished the novel and recently the film version and novel of Angels and Demons, I was curious as to how I’d like this film again. I had seen it when it first came out but honestly remembered very little. I remembered not hating it as much as some did, but that was about it.

Caprica 1.04 – “Gravedancing”

“Gravedancing” continues Caprica’s meandering ways. The show has yet to find any kind of central focus point or direction. It all seems to flit around to the characters and their storylines but without any rhyme or reason. There are few good moments in a series that is too young to have these kind of directionless times.

Caprica 1.05 – “There Is Another Sky”

In a series that is begging for a really good episode — that moment that sets the ball rolling. “There Is Another Sky” is for the most part that episode. It’s not completely brilliant or as good as other “moment” type episodes from other series, but this one does raise the bar. It defines the characters better in a way and opens up different worlds of storytelling.

I can’t remember a novel being at once so good and yet so bad at the same time. It’s a novel purpoted to be based on truth and fact, when in reality the “fact” was all debunked years ago. The premise came across as historical and well researched when it was the opposite. And furthermore the writing style, the prose of the author was often clumsy and awkward.
