Some casting news!

Battlestar Galactica’s Paul Campbell will join the upcoming Knight Rider as the head research tech at Knight Industries.

All My Children’s Leven Rambin will play a teenaged love interest of John Connor’s named Becky.

According to Variety Knight Rider will be getting a shot at a weekly series this fall on NBC. It will be replacing Bionic Woman on the schedule.

I guess the idea is to replace one half-assed sci-fi type show with another and see if something sticks.

As I said in my review of the tepid 2008 telefilm/backdoor pilot, there IS potential. But it’s going to have be done just right in order to have a hope of sustaining an audience.

We’ll see how long we get to review it for…

Knight Rider has seen plenty of interest come and go since the ’80s heyday. Rumors were always afoot of how they were going to resurrect the popular series starring David Hasselhoff and a Trans-Am that ended in 1986.

First of all there was the 1991 tele-film, Knight Rider 2000 that starred David Hasselhoff that was supposed to jump start a new series. Unfortunately the film was an absolute disaster with little redeeming qualities so the franchise would sink down into oblivion again until the next attempt at resurrection.
