Wow. Now this was a far better finale. I have to hand it to Whedon and company. They had an hour left to provide a satisfactory ending and under the time constraints, I think they handled the job quite deftly. I can certainly understand some people having problems with some of the glossed over elements or perhaps the speed of conclusion, but I was more than satisfied with the ending.

This almost could be seen as the finale as it is the final episode of the current timeframe. It seems for the series finale we are jumping forward to the future again. With that in mind, the whole idea seems to cheapen this epsiode which had a lot to do in little time and the happy ending is a farce given what we know.

It was set up to be a slam bang finale with the troops heading to Arizona to knock Rossum’s mainframe offline.

Damn! I REALLY wish this show wasn’t being cancelled. At the same time though, perhaps the idea that getting cancelled sparked a need to find an epic conclusion and upped the consistent quality the show has been achieving.

The war begins here. It really is a shame that the show is being cancelled and that we only have three more episodes after this one. Because damn it’s geting engaging, fun, and exciting.

My first thought while watching this episode is just how good an actor Enver Gjokaj (Victor) is. An episode that further explores the implications of active structure, it is a fun exploration.

The return of Alpha! Dollhouse’s own Joker which is how Alan Tudyk plays it. Hell, if the Joker character was to be continued in the Batman series, I think Alan would be an inspired choice. Even the character’s choice of suit (with a nice dash of purprle) reminded me of the clown prince.

Review: Dollhouse 2.06 Episode 6 The Left Hand Promo dollhouse 8722677 1024 683 300x200

“The Left Hand”

The Left Hand was far more disjointed then it’s predecessor but that doesn’t make it any less exciting. In someways the open disjointed ending leads to more anticipation if anything. It begins where the previous episode left off with Echo at the mercy of Bennett while Parrin is ready to be wiped.

Meanwhile Adelle and Topher fly cross country to retrieve Echo and run into a roadblock. So who’s left running the Dollhouse in L.A.? Well there’s Boyd of course but more importantly and the best part of the episode…Victor.

Programmed as Topher himself.

“The Public Eye”
Review: Dollhouse 2.05 Dollhouse FOX 3 300x199

The first episode to air after the announcement that Dollhouse will be cancelled after this season. So it was with bittersweet regret that I sat down to watch the first hour of Dollhouse on tv. (so yes, the review of the second episode of the night will come later).

And it made me feel very sad because I dug the episode quite a bit and thought it was opening a whole new slew of ideas. Basing itself on the groundwork laid earlier with Senator Perrin and his investigations into the Dollhouse, the show unveils some of the depth of conspiracy that Rossum has delved into.

“Belonging”
Review: Dollhouse 2.04 dollhouse1 300x199

“Belonging” is a home run of an episode. An episode that gave us character development, as well as made us think about the titular house and the kind of morals (or lack thereof) needed to run such an operation.

“Belle Chose”
Review: Dollhouse 2.03 dollhouse 300x200

This week’s episode was definitely interesting, intriguing, and in a way self effacing of it’s characters but overall a mixed bag. All the while the Dollhouse attempts to prove that there is good that can happen as a part of their little jaunts out, this episode showcases the worst that can happen.
