Film Reviews and Warehouse 13 Reviews a Plenty
by Paul Talon on Sep.03, 2010, under Movies, Reviews by Paul Talon, Television, Warehouse 13
2009 Starring: Michael Cera, Portia Doubleday, Jean Smart, Mary Kay Place, Fred Willard, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Long, Ray Liotta, and Steve Buscemi Written by: Gustin Nash and C.D. Payne (who wrote the original novel) Directed by: Miguel Arteta Michael Cera always seems to play Michael Cera (or given that I don’t know him, the same type of character he always plays) and this is the second Nick he’s played. So you always know what kind of film you’re going to get. A nerdy kid who can’t get laid in some kind of coming of age story. The most important question than is how. CLICK FOR FULL REVIEW
Youth In Revolt
Warehouse 13 2.05
- Good chemistry between Claudia and Eureka guest star Dr. Fargo who showed up to give the Warehouse 13 security system an overhaul

Warehouse 13 2.06
- Probably the best straight episode of the series

Warehouse 13 2.07
“For The Team”
- Cool seeing a slight shakeup with Claudia and Myka going out on a mission and letting Pete recover from last episode

Warehouse 13 2.08
- Fun to see Pete and Myka switch bodies and have the actors attempt to be each other while in their own bodies. McClintock owns Kelly though as his Myka in Pete’s body was downright hilarious and spot on. She was okay, but not as perfect as his.

Warehouse 13 – 2.04
Myka in a dress – Hot.
Pete and Myka’s slowly building relationship – not too quickly, but enough there dangling to make you know it’s developing.
Claudia’s very awkward “relationship” with town geek. It’s cute, and necessary for her character so she doesn’t grow stagnant.
Throwaway artifacts and explanations such as Excalibur and how Arthur got it out of the stone, and the Original Ray’s Pizza location.

This has been a bit in coming. As I’ve noted before there are times when real life gets a little too real and intense. At the same time it can also collide with just simply getting burned out. There were times when I’d watch shows and then do anything I could to get out of reviewing it simply because it just wasn’t fun anymore.
Why keep doing it then? Well I thought to myself…why did I start this? I must have enjoyed writing them at some point.
I think it started when my reviews all got to be the same and I wasn’t having a good time trying to get specifics…so the time has come to this. I think I would still enjoy it if I cut back in some fashion. SO until further notice and I reserve the right to change my mind at any time:
I will still be doing movie reviews as I watch them. As for TV, I will do the shows I’ve been doing but in much smaller format. Simply bullets of what worked, what didn’t and the grade. The only exception will be V. I will maintain that standard as my flagship.
Star Wars (and other book reviews) will also be shorter and more to the point.
Thanks for reading guys and gals. Now you should be able to get the gist of whether a show is watchable or not, without some of the bullshit. With this crazy to keep up with life world, perhaps this is a better system anyways!

The Queen Anthology
by Paul Talon on Aug.04, 2010, under Music
Sorry for being so quiet this summer, but I’ve had a lot of real life!
Anyways, here I’ve finally started documenting my ongoing project: The Queen Anthology. Tired for waiting for a comprehensive box set, I’ve begun my own and since I have no limit on how much to put in for sales or whatever, I expect it to total over 300 cds. We’ll see how it goes.

Review: Warehouse 13 Episodes from Season 2!
by Paul Talon on Jul.23, 2010, under Reviews by Paul Talon, Television, Warehouse 13
The show which really found it’s groove towards the end of the season starts off with a strong episode filled with twists, turns, and irreverance
that truly helped make the show successful. We pick up right where season 1 ended, with Artie caught in an explosion set by MacPherson as he escaped with help from the mind controlled Leena.

Ok, it’s time to surrender. If this series has always given a special nod towards geeks, this episode it does away with any pretenses and just becomes an all out homage to it’s
biggest fanbase…the geek.

The bad news. It’s really more of a filler which makes two filler episodes in a row with no real mention of HG Wells and the overall arc. The good news is that it’s still a fairly entertaining if not exactly necessary viewing episode.
