V: The Rebirth

Somewhere around 1987, NBC and Warner Bros. attempted to revitalize V after the series was cancelled. Famed Babylon 5 creator, J. Michael Straczynski pitched a four hour miniseries that would have continued from end of the weekly series. It would have killed off many of the main characters as the only notable character from the rest of the V-verse was Ham Tyler. Straczynski later stated in discussions that Donovan and Julie were brought back to the home planet as P.O.W.s, while Elizabeth was dissected. It was also at least rumored if not disclosed that Willie would have been dead and that at the miniseries would have ended with Ham Tyler sacrificing his life, destroying a mothership. It is interesting to note that V: The Second Generation and V: The Rebirth share some similar concepts. The miniseries was deemed to be to expensive to make at the time and was eventually rejected. Straczynski later noted he wanted to novelize it although after all this time and Johnson returning to work in the V-Verse, it is highly doubtful it will happen. The first link below is the text for the first 3 acts of the proposed miniseries that Straczynski allowed to be distributed to his fans. The second is the review I have done on the treatment. Enjoy!
