“Blood on the Wind”

by Cary Bates, Carmine Infantino, and Tony Dezungia

Synopsis:

Lydia is executed for her debacles involving Bron. Diana claims victory at last.

Ham and Chris discover a Visitor camp in Chicago area that coincidentally where the parents of Bozz’s town was taken.

Bozz surprises Bron and knocks him to the ground, ripping his skin back. With proof that Bron is a lizard, Bozz knows he can win back his leadership.

Ham and Chris are captured on the way into the Visitor camp.

Bozz shows the kids Bron’s true face and uses it to turn them against Donovan and Julie, whom they capture.

Ham and Chris are placed in the camp as “volunteers” to be target practice for Visitor sympathizers who needed to be reprogrammed. Ham and Chris love this idea and with the help of some of the sympathizers destroy the camp from the inside and free the captives.

Analysis:

While again a filler issue, this seemed like it was supposed to be a filler issue. A great one- off return of Ham and Chris who we last saw with Robin in a two part arc. The cover was VERY misleading as it stated that Ham and Chris were protecting the prince in Chicago. Ham and Chris had NOTHING to do with Bron and neither did their adventures.

Still it was great to see the two characters interact again.

The whole situation with Bozz and Bron really seemed like Dejavu as it just seemed like the first arc from the comics again with a slight twist. It was still a town that wanted to be left alone without outsiders, they just weren’t working actively with the Visitors at that point.

Overall, a fun read just seeing Ham and Chris back in action again.
