TIMELINE 1:
Charles was a special envoy from the Leader who was sent in order to bolster the war efforts after Lydia reported of Diana’s bungling. Charles took over and Lydia was placed under him, but over the top of Diana.
Charles has improved upon Diana’s conversion process and plans to implement it right away, converting Ham Tyler into a sleeper agent to kill Mike Donovan on live tv to demoralize the resistance. Using memories of Ham Tyler’s wife and daughter, Charles is successful in turning Tyler.
After Lydia is kidnapped, and the Visitors still had Kyle prisoner, Charles quickly comes up with the idea of a prisoner exchange. Charles makes certain that Bates will moderate it.
When the planned assassination is foiled by Elizabeth who ends up shooting Bates, Charles was not terribly upset, as he realizes how he can manipulate Chiang, the new governor of L.A. until Bates were to recover.
Charles next approves of a plan by Lydia to send covert forces in to masquerade as resistors who attack Science Frontiers. Intrigued more and more by Diana, he works with her on manipulating Chiang over to their side with a computer simulated Bates to use on television. Charles convinced Chiang that he could act without fear of reprisal.
Chiang became a puppet of Charles who proposes taking the Caniff Printing Press hostage, until the resistance leaders give up.
During a bold rescue attempt, Charles gets to fight one on one with Donovan. He humbles Donovan but is unable to finish him off before the hero escaped.
Once Nathan Bates begins to come around slightly, Charles realizes that his reign over Chiang would soon end, so he quickly goes to Science Frontiers to plant the suggestion that if Bates were to die, Chiang would be able to rule L.A. without interference.
Soonafter Diana bungles another operation and Charles comes up with a plan to marry Diana. Being the House of Raman, he has the right to choose any woman he wants to be his wife. By law, if he impregnated her, she would be forced to go back to the home planet.
Lydia grew jealous as she has fallen in love with Charles. As time goes on, he grew more and more intrigued with Diana and thinks about keeping her here. Lydia decided to assassinate Diana on her own and poisons her ceremonial cup.
Charles and Diana are married, but when they drink from the ceremonial cup, Diana suggests they drink from each other’s cup as a symbol of their affections. Charles drank from the cup and was killed.
TIMELINE 1C:
Charles disapproved of Diana’s scheme involving Dr. Earl Meagan but allowed it to continue. When Lydia noticed Donovan and Willy had snuck aboard, obviously to free Meagan, Charles went to sound the general alarm, but Lydia stopped him intimating that if they helped them with Meagan, Diana would look awful and would weaken her position greatly.
Charles removes his skin, and helps Donovan and Willy get Meagan off the ship.
