With such an exhaustive set of characters, it was impossible to set this up in an exact science so I set forward a guideline of sorts, but in some cases I deviated. Generally I took any character who had more than 5 appearances in any medium in the V-verse as a Major Character. An exception to that were the stars of V: The Second Generation. Main characters from that novel, I considered to be main characters because in that timeline really there are only 4 total pieces of product (V: The Original Mini-series Part I & II, the Original Novelization (first part), and The Second Generation Novel) SO in a sense they ARE a larger character.

Beyond that I also grouped people together into categories. Diana has her own page for example because there is no one to group with her on a localized level. I placed the whole Donovan clan (Donovan and family) on one subpage. Most of the time the subpage groupings were by family but there are again a few exceptions, such as Chris Faber being under Ham Tyler’s subpage, and Mr. Chiang being under the Bates subpage because it seemed logical.

Some minor characters who would usually have been lumped in a Minor Character page were also pulled out because logically it made sense to group them in a different subpage. For example Ham Tyler’s unnamed wife and daughter made one appearance, but it simply made sense to group them under Ham Tyler’s subpage. The first rule of thumb, is check by name here first. If they are not here, then peruse the minor character subpages.

Each entry will detail

1. Who portrayed the character (if necessary and then if known)
2. Where they appeared
3. A biography that starts with when they first appeared and then goes throughout the main timeline
4. The Second Generation timeline
5. Any other timelines
