Claude and Peter have a nice conversation and Peter becomes invisible. Claude calls him one of “those” and storms off, leaving Peter suddenly visible. From the get go, these two have chemistry. Claude’s bitterness, and Peter’s naivety work well together.

Meanwhile we get a realistic look at Parkman and his wife making a game out of his powers. Those moments don’t happen very often with the time slotted to the show, but it’s good to see once in awhile.

Review: Heroes 1.12

It is two weeks after Peter collapsed and he is still unconscious in the hospital as Nathan and Angela watch over him. It’s kind of strange how Angela has changed from the first time we met her. She’s come a long way from shoplifting socks.

It is obvious that Jessica likes to play with the guards as they all flinch everytime Niki moves. She is taken to see her lawyer. The quicker the better and off screen with her. Are you sensing a trend in my reviews with regards to this storyline yet?

The Parliament Of Dreams

Review: Babylon 5 1.05 256px-B5_The_Parliament_of_Dreams_1

G’Kar is going crazy and I love it! Londo is drunk and that can only mean hijinks and hilarity for all involved. I know for a fact that I am not stunning in purple, now pink on the other hand is a whole nother story. Michael O’ Hare shows us all how to woo a woman while showing next to no emotion at all, this man is my hero!

Film Review: 300

May 27th, 2008 | Category: Movies, Reviews by Zeek

I’m in ur Sparta, licking ur oracle.

Film Review: 300 300

Starring: Gerard Butler, Lena Headey, Dominic West
Written by: Zack Snyder, Kurt Johnstad, Michael Gordon
Director: Zack Snyder

Every frame of this battle epic is composed as a page from a graphic novel, as was the intention of its producers. To this effect this movie is immensely successful. As for story, there is no real character development here, save for King Leo’s minor struggle with revealing his emotions.

The Persians here are painted as monsters and mutants, of which they are neither in reality, and this depiction can be at first offensive as we see the Spartans as the perfect human specimen. However, this film is not at all interested in reality, and one can easily tell from the first sepia-toned frame that this is a fantasy story set to dramatize an historical event. The monsters are therefore not made to insult the nation of Persia, but to heighten the stakes for the Spartans, as they are 300 perfect warriors against an unbeatable army, and although they do not prevail, their spirits are never crushed, and they never lay down their freedom.

Special kudos to the visual department. Great visuals on top of a fairly shallow tale of war.

Review: Heroes 1.11

Review: Heroes 1.11 Heroes_Fallout

While Six Months Ago was the more popular epsiode, I certainly preferred Fallout.

We open with Claire admitting her special gift and Bennet actually admits that he knew all about it and knew about it even before she did? Hmmm? Interesting train of thought. He tells her that no one must know beyond Zach and Lyle.

Back at the high school, Parkman shows off the skills that should make him a detective. He finds the extra set of footprints and they theorize what could have happened. They don’t believe Peter is Sylar, but he’s certainly their best bet.

Hiro’s trip back in time six months ago served as a great storyline excuse to get some backstory on all our favorite characters with mixed results. It seems like a great idea, but in theory it ends up being filler most of the time. Some because honestly, we don’t really care about what happened to them before their powers, but it’s partially made up for by finding out about Sylar’s origins.

Review: Heroes 1.09

“Homecoming” was a great episode for what I like to call the “first climax”. Usually every show, the midway point is like a junior season finale…a big episode. Everything from almost every story except for the still completely detached (and therefore not as interesting) Niki storyline, has been leading to this moment and it’s good…even if it opens like a cheesy teen romance.
