In an amusing openeing, Hiro calls Isaac and talks to Peter. Finally in a fit of brilliance (note sarcasm), Hiro puts the English speaking Ando on the line. Hiro finds out that he came from the future with a sword to give them the warning. Hiro is very excited about having had a sword.
Mr. Bennet tells Claire that he has gotten off the phone with her biological parents and that she can meet them if she was absolutely ready. Bennet is always hard to read, but it makes for interesting tv.
DL is able to break in despite the security and Niki is torn. When the police comes to the door, she has the chance to turn him in but she doesn’t. Their relationship is a strange one for certain.
While Hiro and Ando discuss the future and Hiro fantasizes about using his sword, the high rollers who they cheated come to pay up their debt…again. Convenient timing…must be a plot device!
The High Rollers have Ando and Hiro cheat for them again leading to bad blood for everyone. As Ando realizes that the guy has a gun pointed at him, he grabs Hiro and runs to the bathroom. While they are in there a gun fight outside and the duo escape through the window.
Micah is reunited with his father after Niki starts seeing double in the mirror. It’s a confusing storyline, but it’s not engaging enough, although DL is much more interesting than his wife. DL and Micah make a better team as they discuss their comics, and DLs intimation that he has an ability as well.
Mohinder plans to leave to go back to India, even as Eden plants the seeds for his return. Such a good little employee as we learn from a phone call and Bennet is alerted to the problem that Claire might face.
Claire meets her parents in an awkward scene, but she doesn’t learn anything about her ability.
DL and Niki travel to a place where DL can prove that he was set up. It turns out to be the High Roller game that Ando and Hiro just left. So at least the storyline is connected by tangent. As Niki finally meets and have discussions with Jessica, it is predictable what is going to happen.
Hiro is angry at himself for not trying to help save those in the gunfight, but Ando is able to cheer him up to a degree. It is Ando’s key role in the show, to maintain Hiro’s enthusiasm.
As Mr. Bennet walks out Claire’s bio-parents it becomes apparent quickly that they are not really Claire’s parents. They are more employees of Mr. Bennet. I really like how they toe the line with Bennet. He’s the main bad guy, but every once in awhile he does good, but then he goes right back. It makes him the most interesting character for certain.
DL catches Niki in the act, but as soon as he mention taking Micah away, Niki goes all Jessica and I admit we get a cool battle which ends with DL grabbing her heart and knocking her unconscious. DL takes Micah and runs.
As we end, Eden is making contact with Isaac to move Bennet’s plans forward.
It’s a high-action episode which moves things along well…even the Niki-Jessica scenes are interesting which says something. There is some insignificance at times….like Niki-Jessica in fact. Moments of brilliance splashed by moments of meh.
