Dragonlance: The Annotated Chronicles Volume I:
Dragons of Autumn Twilight
by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
A labor of true love which sets a steady foundation for a rousing epic tale of faith, devotion, and of course good vs. evil.
To be honest this book should have been awful. It was written by two first time authors who were chronicling what happened as they played Dungeons and Dragons. And certainly there are flaws in the novel, where it’s almost too simple, characters almost too archetypal.
But notice I said almost.

“Lay Down Your Burdens Part II”

The Season Two finale did it’s best to be a unique piece of television. And it certainly was that. Does that mean it was good? Well it was in spurts. However, it was hard for me to get over the disjointedness of the episode, despite my respecting the direction they were trying to take the show.

“Escape Velocity”

“Escape Velocity” doesn’t move the larger story forward, but it is a step up from the last two episodes. It’s a personal story of three Cylons and their attempt to assimilate to their new knowledge.
The fourth, of course, is still on the Demetrius which is igiven only a cursory screentime…basically enough to say — We’re still out here!
But that’s more important to the larger story, which this episode is not about. I almost sounds as if I’m making this episode filler, and maybe it is…but that doesn’t mean it’s not worthy.

“Lay Down Your Burdens Part 1″

The creators of BSG decided to end the second season much like the first — a two part finale. It is unfortunate that “Lay Your Burdens Down Part 1″ does not have the same impact as “Kobol’s Last Gleaming Part 1″ had. They are both setup episodes, but “Burdens” setup is just not quite as exciting. In fact by the end, only a burst of action sequence really reminds us that this is supposed to be a slam bang finale.
Film Review: Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Starring: Jason Segel, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, and Russel Brand
Written by: Jason Segel
Directed by: Nicholas Stoller
Forgetting Sarah Marshall is the latest in a movie trend, that I’m glad to see…the romantic comedy for guys. It’s a date movie that has enough hilarity that guys can enjoy it as much as their significant others.
Another slowly developing trend is the clique of friends, that get together and just make movies. It seems to me that the Apatow family tree is a worthy successor to Kevin Smith’s Askewniverse. Of course the two are marrying somewhatsince Smith is directing Seth Rogen in the upcoming Zach and Miri Make a Porno. (Yes I know it’s not in the Askewniverse)
